Additional Information:
This rare book is a look into the evils of vendors and salesmen that sold products that were often referred to as Snake Oil Medicines. Patent Medicines were purportedly sold as cure-alls. These claims came under strict scrutiny with the establishment of The Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. Even so, many of the claims continued. This book deals with those many claims.

A series of articles were published weekly by The Journal of The American Medical Association and are compiled and edited in this second volume of Nostrums and Quackery.

The first volume was issued in 1911 and was quickly revised in 1912. This volume printed some 9 years later contains almost none of the information from volume one. Volume three was issued in 1936.

This book is extremely rare in any condition and often sells for $100 or more.
