Additional Information:
This is an interesting old ladle with the motto Fortuna Sequatur (Latin
for Let Fortune Follow) and a Bow & Arrow logo attributed to
Lord
Aberdeen. George Hamilton Gordon (1784-1860) was the 4th Earl of
Aberdeen, Scotland.
Hallmarks include:
- Lion Passant = Sterling Silver .925
- Date Letter "U" = 1815
- Duty Mark = 1786-1821
- Maker's Mark WE over WF = William Eley and
William Fearn of London, Registered 1797.
