at all.
The leather covering appears to be in perfect condition. These appear
barely used, with minimal wear. The original case is in very good
condition The clasp

Additional Information:
Opera glasses were needed because the stage was generally a long
distance from some of the seats at a play or an opera.
While designs like Mother-of-Pearl were more popular for woman these
leather covered glasses gave a more masculine appearance. This type
decoration was popular on many French glasses back around the late
1800s and early 1900s.
These glass by Lemaire are marked with the traditional Bee and say 61
Made in France on the underside of the middle bar. (Please see a copy
of an early 1900 advertisement that we have included for reference
only,
not included with the purchase.)
Both top lens pieces say Lemaire FABT and then have the Bee emblem and
below that says Paris. There is a number, probably a serial number, on
the under side of the top bar that reads G 2134. There are no other
markings on this pair of glasses.
